PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell culture fiber material that is easy for cells to adhere and proliferate and having proper handleability, and to provide a cell culture substrate and a method for producing the cell culture substrate. SOLUTION: The cell culture substrate comprises a fiber material, which is integrated with a base plate and obtained by dispersing chitosan fibers formed by electrospinning in a solvent, and then subjecting the dispersion to homogenization to obtain a slurry liquid, and then coating the product to the base plate followed by heating or freeze-drying. A method for producing the cell culture substrate is also provided. In the substrate, the fiber material is of a mesh form, and the fiber diameter is 5μm or smaller. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
