PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a difference of a linear expansion coefficient of a constituting member or a strain is generated in a stress, etc. of a resin layer forming a liquid channel wall or a discharge hole upon a changing in lengthening (particularly, 0.5 inch or more) of a discharge element or a change in ink composition, alternatively with an influence given to an interface even by novel ink, a release developed between a liquid channel wall or a coating resin layer for forming a discharge hole and an upper protective layer on a heater substrate, and alternatively with a release developed near the interface between the close contact improving layer and the upper protective layer even by providing an organic close contact improving layer on the upper protective layer, and that the ink impregnates the substrate to cause the corrosion of wiring, and as a result, to provide no good printing, or to make it difficult to secure quality reliability for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The close contact improving layer made of, for example, a TaN or a TaSiN of the same composition as that of a heating resistor is formed on the substrate having the heating resistor and the upper protective layer.
