In accordance with a program stored in an object pursuing computer program product a computer carries out a template matching step for carrying out template matching with respect to each frame of an input image by using each of a plurality of template images to extract a plurality of regions with the highest degree of similarity of a plurality of the template images in the input image, respectively, a sorting step for sorting a plurality of the extracted regions into a region used for specifying an object in the input image and other regions than it on the basis of distances between respective regions in the input image, a specifying step for specifying object positions on the basis of positions in the input image with respect to the sorted regions as regions used for specifying the object positions in the sorting step, and an object pursuing step for carrying out pursuing a moving object between images in a plurality of frames by pursuing the object positions between the frames. |
