The present invention relates to a candidate subunit for a vaccine against malaria caused by P. vivax, known as Pv200L, which is based on N-terminal end portions of the P. vivax MSP-1 protein. The subunit is designed for use alone or in formulations, combined with other subunits. The invention includes the production of recombinant prototypes of the subunit and the design of a production process that can be scaled up for mass production thereof.
