<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of bringing about a state that print data included in received data are adequately inputted to an input item of a template even if the structure of the received data is unknown. <P>SOLUTION: This printer 1 determines that the number of delimiters included in received data 51 from a host 39 is three by calculation by considering that the number of the delimiters is smaller than the number of input items 41-44 of a template 40 by one. A character string which is periodically repeated in the received data 51 three times the same as the number of delimiters is acquired to be a candidate of the delimiter. A candidate of a printing start character string is acquired from a data group positioned after the candidate of the last delimiter in the received data 51. Four pieces of item data included in the received data 51 are estimated by using the candidate of the preliminary determined delimiter and the candidate of the printing start character string. A print preview 61 in a state that the four pieces of item data are inputted to the respective input items 41-44 of the template 40 is displayed on an LCD 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
