PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and effectively improve the feeling quality of a vehicle by exhaust sound. SOLUTION: In the vehicle 10 equipped with a V-six engine 200, an ECU 100 can rest an arbitrary cylinder by stopping fuel injection and stopping ignition operation. The ECU 100 varies the tone of exhaust sound by performing engine control in exhaust sound control processing, which corresponds to any one of a non-resting mode wherein all the cylinder are operated according to an operation condition of the engine 200 to attain basic exhaust sound, a one-cylinder resting mode wherein one cylinder is rested to attain powerful exhaust sound including small rumble noise, a two cylinder continuously resting mode wherein two cylinders whose explosion intervals are successive to each other are rested to attain more powerful exhaust sound including large rumble noise and a two cylinder discontinuously resting mode wherein two cylinders whose explosion intervals are distanced 360°CA are rested to attain exhaust sound with both powerful feeling and lilting feeling.
