PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock device capable of eliminating any rotating resistance to a pole shaft by a reaction force applied to a cam from a striker in a locked state while maintaining a favorable constitution that the pole shaft is rotatably supported by a base plate. SOLUTION: A lock mechanism 20 of a lock device comprises a base plate 22 having a recess 23 capable of receiving a striker 70, a hook 30 forming a locked state of holding the striker 70 between the recess and itself and an unlocked state of releasing the striker, a pole 40 which is supported by a pole shaft 46 rotatably supported by the base plate in an integrally rotatable manner to hold the hook 30 in a locked state, a lock spring 54 for stabilizing the hook and the pole in the locked state or the unlocked state, a cam 60 which is rotatably supported by the other shaft (a hook shaft 38) than the pole shaft 46 to apply the pressure to the striker in the locked state, and an urging spring 68 for urging the cam.
