PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing for a wheel capable of achieving further weight reduction while ensuring required strength and rigidity. SOLUTION: The rolling bearing device H for the wheel has rotating raceway rings 2, 3 rotatably inserted in a cylindrical fixed raceway ring 1 fixed to the vehicle body side. A plurality of wheel mounting flange parts 7 are radially formed at the outer periphery of one axial end side of the rotating raceway rings 2, 3, and an axially projecting annular spigot 13 is formed at one axial end of the rotating raceway rings 2, 3. A circular recess 14 is formed at the one axial end of the rotating raceway rings 2, 3, and a reinforcing thick wall section 16 is formed at the inner peripheral surface of the spigot 13, in a position corresponding to a portion between the respective flanges 7.
