PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that productivity is not improved to bring about an increase in cost by a method for correcting the face inclination of a conventional polygon mirror. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus has a specifying part 320 for specifying the reflecting face of the polygon mirror for deflecting a laser beam, a PWM signal forming part 303 for generating a PWM signal which keeps the modulated pulse width of an image signal, an image processing apparatus 301 forming peripheral pixel information expressing the arrangement status of the peripheral pixel of the image forming objective pixel included in the image signal, and a memory 321 for storing information related to the amount of light of the laser beam according to the reflecting face of the polygon mirror and the peripheral pixel information.
