摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for recycling used oxide based refractory in consideration of environmental pollution and a problem in terms of effective utilization of mineral resource of the earth due to the waste of the refractory used in a steel making blast furnace or an industrial kiln. <P>SOLUTION: A method of synthesizing magnesium aluminum oxynitride from a raw material containing components of magnesia, alumina and carbon effectively uses the used magnesia, magnesia-spinel and alumina refractory as a part or the whole of the raw material. The magnesium aluminum oxynitride is synthesized by blending each raw material so that a resultant prepared mixture contains 1-30 mass% magnesia, 50-95 mass% alumina and 0.5-30 mass% carbon as chemical components and heating the resultant prepared mixture at 1,400-1,800&deg;C under a gaseous nitrogen atmosphere. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
