The fuel cell (1) has an anode, a cathode and a membrane arranged between the anode and the cathode, where the membrane is designed as a multiple membrane (7). The multiple membrane is a double membrane (8), and consists of different membranes that are welded with each other or hot pressed with each other. The membranes have different functions or different molecular weight. The multiple membrane is obtained by subsequent coating of an outer membrane in a screen printing or an air brush process.
