An extract of fermented Rubus koreanum MIQUEL is provided to inhibit secretion of catecholamine(CA) of adrenal gland significantly induced by various secretion promoting agents such as acetylcholine, high K, DMPP, McN-A-343, Bay-K-8644 and cyclopiazonic acid, thereby being usefully used for preventing or treating cardiovascular diseases. A composition for preventing or treating cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, stroke, angina pectoris, cardiac failure, myocardial infarction and arteriosclerosis comprises an extract of fermented Rubus koreanum MIQUEL as an effective ingredient. The composition further comprises at least one additive selected from the group consisting of an excipient, a disintegrating agent, a binder and a lubricant. Further, the composition is an oral composition having a form of tablet, capsule, solution, suspension or syrup.
