A communication apparatus for radio communication and a frequency generation method thereof are provided to generate plural L0 frequencies to support the radio communication standards of various bandwidths by using a VCO, thereby reducing a circuit area and supporting multi-modes and multi-bands by a chip. A VCO(Voltage Control Oscillator)(341) outputs a preset oscillation voltage by using a voltage applied from the outside. A frequency divider(343,345,347,349) generates first to fifth L0 frequencies on the basis of the oscillation voltage outputted from the VCO. A mixer mixes at least two L0 frequencies of the first to fifth L0 frequencies generated in the frequency divider and an input signal to switch the frequency of the input signal. The frequency divider sets the oscillation voltage to the first L0 frequency and transfers the set frequency to the mixer.
