<p>An apparatus and a method for setting a paging group in a broadband wireless communication system are provided to set the paging group in consideration of movement of a terminal, thereby reducing unnecessary data flows caused by the paging and preventing iterative paging performance caused by a paging fail. A call managing unit(205) outputs handover generation information of a terminal to a controller. A storage(207) stores paging group setup information by terminal. The controller(201) determines a paging group size of the terminal by using a handover generation frequency, and updates the setup information stored in the storage. A communication unit(203) performs an interfacing function for performing communication with another network entities.</p> |
