The device (1) has two traction devices (3) arranged on sides of metallic goods (2). Each drawing device exerts a magnetic distraction force on the metallic goods, and has an electromagnetic inductor (4) controlled by a frequency converter (5). The inductor produces an electromagnetic traveling wave, and a correction coil (6) is attached to the inductor. The inductor is controlled by a steering or regulation unit (7) that produces a magnetic field superimposed to the traveling wave. A laser measuring device (8) is arranged in the area of the inductor and the correction coil.
