<p>The method involves providing center information about positions of a set of motor vehicles (14) e.g. floating car, and compiling traffic condition messages based on the information. A radio communication unit (16) e.g. mobile telephone, is installed in each individual vehicle for communication with a cellular mobile network e.g. Global system for Mobile Communication radio network. The central information about a mobile radio cell or mobile radio cell group (10a), with which the radio communication unit stands in contact is provided. An independent claim is also included for a device for recording data on the state of traffic in a road network.</p> |
