A system for inputting location information to an image and an operating method thereof are provided to photograph an image in a digital image processing device, store location information in a GPS device, and connect the digital image processing device and the GPS device to input location information to an image file stored in the digital image processing device, thereby reducing an initial image photographing time to photograph an image smoothly. A system for inputting location information to an image comprises a digital image processing device(100) and a GPS(Global Positioning System) device(300). The digital image processing device photographs an image to generate and store an image file. The GPS device stores location information received from a GPS satellite(200) at regular intervals. If the digital image processing device is connected to the GPS device, the digital image processing device receives location information matching the time information of the stored image file and inputs the location information to the image file.
