CARBON NANOTUBE COMPOSITE AND BIREFRINGENT THIN FILM PREPARED THEREFROM

A carbon nanotube composite and a birefringent thin film prepared therefrom are provided to obtain liquid crystalline property for the composite and to obtain good arrangement for the thin film which is useful for CNT TFT manufacturing, respectively, by employing regioregular poly(3-alkylthiophene) and poly(methoxy-ethylhexyloxy-phenylene-vinylene) conjugate polymer. A carbon nanotube composite comprises: carbon nanotube; and a regioregular poly(3-alkylthiophene) represented by a formula 1or a poly(methoxy-ethylhexyloxy-phenylene-vinylene) conjugate polymer represented by a formula 2. The ratio of the carbon nanotube to the conjugate polymer is 1:0.5-1:3 by weight, and the carbon nanotube is single wall carbon nanotube. A birefringent thin film is prepared from the carbon nanotube composite in a process comprising steps of: mixing poly(3-alkylthiophene) or poly(methoxy-ethylhexyloxy-phenylene-vinylene) conjugate polymer, solvent and carbon nanotube; preparing a carbon nanotube composite dispersion by sonication of the prepared mixture; and rubbing the dispersion on a substrate in order to form thin film.
