The method involves moving seat rows by a control unit, based on given data, to their desired position in longitudinal direction. A size distribution of seat users is received, and the size distribution is classified by a computer program in two size ranges. The size range classification is passed to the control unit so that the seats are moved, according to the size range classification, into their desired position and appropriate distances between the seats are adjusted.
