LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY PANEL AND MENUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel and a method of manufacturing the LCD panel are provided to form a repair hole penetrating an organic insulating layer to connect a gate line and a pixel electrode through laser shorting of a gate line and a pixel electrode in a repair process to prevent poor repairing due to the thickness of the organic insulating layer. An LCD panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The first substrate includes a black matrix which defines sub pixel regions. The second substrate includes a gate line(21), a data line(65) intersecting the gate line, having a gate insulating layer formed between the gate lines and the data lines, to define each of the sub pixel regions, a thin film transistor formed at the intersection of the gate line and the data line and connected to the gate line and the data line, an organic passivation layer(100) for protecting the thin film transistor, a pixel electrode(130) formed in the corresponding sub pixel region and connected to the thin film transistor through a pixel contact hole(110) penetrating the organic passivation layer, a repair part formed in a region where the pixel electrode is superposed on the gate line, and a repair hole(120) penetrating the organic passivation layer, formed in the repair part.
