The system has an electronic control unit (ECU) for controlling actuators of an automatic transmission (1), and a transmission clutch (2) attached to the automatic transmission. The control unit exhibits two separate ECU functional blocks (13, 14), which are signal and/or data technically connected with one another. The functional block (13) is provided or designed for basic system functions (15) such as switching flow control, for operating the transmission and/or the clutch. The functional block (14) is provided for interface functions for a vehicle.
