#CMT# #/CMT# The safety belt system has a belt winder/retractor with base (1) and turnable shaft (24), which is pre-tensioned in winding direction.. A gas generator (32) located on the base drives a drive element (36,40,42) to turn the shaft in belt winding-up direction. A coupling mechanism (44) connecting drive element and shaft, has a pulley (44c), fastened to the drive element and coaxial to the winding shaft. The mechanism also has a cam and a plate (44b), turnable in the same direction as the shaft.
