An engine control device of a forklift truck is provided to prevent sudden degradation of engine RPM or turn-off of the truck even when a sudden load is generated by the operation of external work units during idle. A forklift truck includes a plurality of work units(25), a hydraulic line(20) connected to the work units, a hydraulic pump(15) for controlling an oil flow rate of the hydraulic line, and an engine(10) for providing power to the hydraulic pump. An engine control device includes a hydraulic sensing unit(30) and a controller(35). The hydraulic sensing unit detects the hydraulic pressure of the hydraulic line. The controller controls the engine such that engine idle RPM varies in accordance with the hydraulic pressure of the hydraulic line. |
