An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method of manufacturing the LCD are provided to form an auxiliary column spacer under a column spacer to prevent the column spacer from being deformed by external pressure applied thereto. An LCD includes a first substrate(210), a plurality of light-shielding members(220) formed on the first substrate, a second substrate(110) opposite to the first substrate, a plurality of pixels formed on the second substrate, and a sensing electrode formed on the second substrate. The LCD further includes a protrusion(240) projected to the sensing electrode and formed on a predetermined light-shielding member, a common electrode(270) which is formed on the first substrate and envelopes the protrusion, a column spacer(320) which is formed on the common electrode and supports the first and second substrates, and an auxiliary column spacer(310) formed between a portion of the common electrode, which corresponds to the column spacer, and the light-shielding member corresponding to the column spacer. |
