Additives and use thereof as a solubilizing agent in fuels

Use of a composition (I) comprising 1-8C alkyl ester and partial glyceride, where the glycerin content of free glycerin is up to 2 wt.%, as additive for the improvement of solubility of water and/or alcohol in fuel composition, is claimed. An independent claim is included for a fuel composition comprising: 60-99 wt.% of diesel; 0.5-20 wt.% (preferably 2-15 wt.%) of (I); 0.5-20 wt.% of ethanol; and 0-1% of additional water (in addition to the water content in the additive or in ethanol).
