The damper (13) has a piston cylinder arrangement with an operating piston (4) provided in a spring cylinder. A connection channel (14a) connects a cylinder chamber (2) on a side of the operating piston and another cylinder chamber (5) on other side of the operating piston. The connection channel is provided for overflow of a damping medium. The connection channel has a closing system (17b), which stays in control connection with the damping medium of the cylinder chambers during its actuation, and a releasing unit (20) operates dependent on the pressure change speed. An independent claim is also included for a method for regulating a damper.
