An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to arrange a metal member between a signal line and a coil of a transformer to reduce the influence of magnetic force lines generated from the transformer on the signal line. An LCD includes an LCD panel, a lamp located behind the LCD panel, a cover for covering the lamp, and an inverter which is placed on the backside of the cover, includes a substrate and a transformer(620) attached to the substrate and drives the lamp. The transformer includes a core(650) and a coil(640) which envelops at least a part of the core, a transformer cover(70) covering the coil, an inverter cover covering the inverter and the transformer cover, and a metal member(80) placed on the transformer cover.
