A digital TV and a method for performing a zoom function in the digital TV are provided to process the zoom function effectively through an ARC(Aspect Ratio Converter) function using PIP(Picture-In-Picture), thereby selectively zooming a user-desired area. A display unit(250) displays a main picture and a sub-picture. A remoter controller(290) outputs a signal of selecting a zoom function by a user, and selects a specific area from the sub-picture. A controller(270) performs a PIP function according to the zoom function by the remote controller to display an image of the current main picture through the sub-picture, and controls the zooming of the selected specific area. An image signal processor(240) zooms and displays the specific area through the main picture according to control of the controller. |
