A water-based adhesive for elastomers is provided to realize improved shelf stability and shelf life despite the use of a bromine-substituted olefin polymer in combination with a halosulfonated olefin polymer. A water-based adhesive for elastomers comprises: (a) at least one bromine-substituted olefin polymer; (b) at least one halosulfonated olefin polymer; and (c) at least one compatibilizer selected from the group consisting of epoxy resins, phenolic resins, chlorinated polyolefin and a blend thereof. The water-based adhesive does not comprise an effective amount of isocyanate. The halosulfonated olefin polymer includes chlorosulfonated polyethylene. |
