An apparatus for testing opening-closing durability of a folder type portable terminal is provided to increase reliability of test results by automated test process. An apparatus(100) for testing opening-closing durability of a folder type portable terminal includes a holder(120), a holder rotating unit, a folder sensor(160), a folder rotating unit(170), and a controller. The holder is rotatably coupled to a case(110) and supports a terminal main body with a folder unit opened wide. The holder rotating unit rotates the holder from a first position to a second position for spreading the folder unit from the terminal main body. The folder sensor monitors that the folder unit spreads from the terminal main body at the second position. The folder rotating unit rotates the folder unit for folding the folder unit on the terminal main body at the second position. The controller allows the folder unit to reciprocate predetermined times, stops the folder rotating unit after reciprocating, and outputs reciprocating times of the folder unit.
