A mobile communication terminal and an operation method thereof are provided to automatically transmit information on a battery state to the other party if a call is disconnected owing to battery consumption during the call between a user of the terminal with the other party, so that the other party can know state information of the terminal. A remaining amount sensor(20) senses the remaining amount of a battery(10). If the sensed remaining amount is less than a set value, a controller(30) transmits battery deficiency information to a called party. The controller transmits the battery deficiency information to the other party by using a text message service. If the sensed remaining amount of the battery is more than power consumed to send a message, the controller transmits a text message.
