A division member for a cold water tank and a water purifier using the division member are provided to lower power consumption and reduce costs by cooling only water in a cold water tank at a lower side of the division member, installing an evaporator only on a lower side of an outer face of the cold water tank, and installing a check valve in a connecting pipe of the division member for communicating the cold water tank and a hot water tank. A water purifier comprises: a body(10) on which a cold water intake valve(12) and a hot water intake valve(14) are installed; a cold water tank(20) installed in the body and communicated with the cold water intake valve to store the water by receiving water from a water source; a hot water tank(30) installed under the cold water tank in the body and communicated with the hot water intake valve to store the water by receiving water from the cold water tank; an evaporator(60) and a heater(80) installed on the cold water tank and the hot water tank respectively to cool and heat water of the cold water tank and water of the hot water tank; a division member(40) which divides the water stored in the cold water tank, and enable the cold water tank and the hot water tank to communicate with each other; and a check valve(50) for preventing backflow of the water of the hot water tank into the cold water tank, the check valve including a tubular body installed in the division member, a projecting rim projected from an inner peripheral surface of the body, a rotary supporting rod supportingly inserted into a supporting groove formed in the body at a lower side of the projecting rim, and an opening-and-closing plate attached to the projecting rim or detached from the projecting rim to open or close an inner part of the body.
