A plasma display panel is provided to improve a bright room contrast and a panel display efficiency by reducing reflectivity of external light incident on a front substrate. A dielectric layer is formed on the entire surface of a rear substrate to cover address electrodes(23) and easily accumulate wall charge. A phosphor layer is formed on an inner surface of the second group of barrier ribs and a surface of the dielectric layer to form discharge cells on the rear substrate. A front substrate(11) is colored by a first color, and a first group of barrier ribs(12) made of dielectric is colored by a second color. A region on which the front substrate and barrier ribs are overlapped is subtractively mixed with black to absorb external light incident through the front substrate.
