APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DECIDING MOBILE STATION GROUP FOR DATA TRANSMISSION IN A COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

An apparatus and a method for determining a data transmission terminal group in a communication system are provided to use resources of a communication system effectively. A base station measures a reception signal strength and reception signal quality of every terminal existing in a service area of the base station(401). The base station divides the terminals into two groups based on a reference signal strength(403). The base station selects one terminal of the first terminal group(405). The base station calculates data rates according to signal transmission by using the selected terminal(407). The base station checks whether the sum of data rates has been reduced(409). If the sum of the data rates has been reduced, the base station determines a data transmission terminal group including terminals which has been selected immediately before the data rate was reduced(415).
