A METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING AND RECEIVING IN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A data transmission method in a mobile communication system is provided to transmit/receive data according to a random access technique in a communication system supporting a plurality of communication service modes. A user terminal estimates a communication service mode providing an optimum service among communication service modes provided by a base station supporting a plurality of communication service modes, and transmits a random access message for a connection to the base station via a common random access channel(300). The common random access channel is set in consideration of all the channel situations of the plurality of communication service modes. In transmitting the random access message to the base station, whenever the user terminal attempts transmission of the random access message, it includes a different access sequence to the random access message and transmits the same.
