A plasma display panel is provided to improve bright room contrast and to prevent the drop of display efficiency due to external light reflection by using a subtractive color mixture between colors. A first substrate(10) and a second substrate(20) are arranged to face to each other. A barrier rib(16) is arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate to divide discharge cells(18). The barrier rib is colored with a first color. An address electrode(12) is extended on the first substrate in a first direction. Display electrodes(21,22) are extended on the second substrate in a second direction intersected with the first direction. A fluorescent substance layer is formed in each discharge cell. A dielectric layer is formed to cover the display electrodes. A colored dielectric portion is included in the dielectric layer and formed on a boundary of the adjacent discharges corresponding to the barrier rib. The colored dielectric section is colored with a second color. The first color and the second color are colored in a subtractive color mixture.
