A display device, a set-top box, a display system, and a display method thereof are provided to receive information about an image displayed on an external display device and transmit a message to the external display device, thereby controlling the displayed image and performing communication between users viewing the display device. A display device(1) comprises a display unit(10), a communication unit(30), an image processing unit(20), and a control unit(60). The communication unit receives an image signal and information about a first image displayed on an external display device and transmits a control signal for controlling the first image. The image processing unit processes an image to display the image on the display unit. The control unit displays the information about the received first image on the display unit and controls the image processing unit and the communication unit to transmit the control signal for controlling the first image.
