FUEL CELL SYSTEM START-UP METHOD

A method for starting up a home fuel cell system is provided to prevent the discharge of toxic and combustible gas discharged in case of starting up and to reduce the time required from the starting up to the output of electricity, thereby improving efficiency. A method for starting up a home fuel cell system comprises the steps of (S1) igniting a burner to heat a reformer, a CO modifier and a CO remover in a fuel converter; (S2) heating the catalysts of the reformer, the CO modifier and the CO remover to the temperature region where the catalyst reaction starts; (S3) supplying vapor to the reformer; (S4) supplying the fuel gas in such an amount capable of stabilizing the content of CO of the purified gas discharged from the CO remover to be 10 ppm or less to the reformer and supplying air to the CO remover; (S5) supplying the stabilized purified gas discharged from the CO remover to a stack; (S6) supplying the off gas discharged from the stack to the burner instantly; and (S7) controlling the amount of the fuel supplied to the reformer according to the load change of the stack so as to allow the stack to reach the proper operation state.
