A contents reproduction method of a mobile communication terminal and a device thereof are provided to enable a user to search desired contents easily for reproduction from the terminal by searching contents according to various items, and to reproduce the contents by item, thereby offering more various contents reproduction methods. Classified items hierarchically associated in a mutual way are displayed together according to a contents list display request. One of the classified items is selected. If lower layers associated with the selected item exist, detailed items corresponding to the lower layers are displayed on the basis of information on stored contents, and if the selected item is the lowest layer, all of the contents are displayed. If a reproduction request for one of the contents is inputted, the corresponding content is reproduced.
