A contents data communication system, contents data recording/reproducing device, a data communication method, and a program thereof are provided to enable the contents data recording/reproducing device to synchronize contents data with an information processing device without depending on the information processing device or requiring any operation for contents data synchronization. A contents data recording/reproducing device connector(152) is connected to an information processing device(100). A contents data recording/reproducing device storage unit(154) stores an application(156) for controlling contents data transmission to a contents data recording/reproducing device(150) from the information processing device. The information processing device includes a connector(102) connecting to the contents data recording/reproducing device, a storage unit(104) storing the contents data(110-116), and an application controller(106). The application controller reads the application from the contents data recording/reproducing device storage unit, and transmits the contents data stored in the storage unit to the contents data recording/reproducing device storage unit based on the application when the contents data recording/reproducing device is connected. An operation unit(158) is operated to reproduce, stop reproduction of, or delete content data in the content data recording/reproducing device.
