An air conditioner is provided to supply gas refrigerant to a compressor from a phase separator by removing liquid refrigerant therefrom for reducing work of the compressor and preventing driving defect or damage, thereby improving the entire operation efficiency of the air conditioner. An air conditioner includes a throttle unit mounted along a first refrigerant pipe, which guides gas refrigerant to a compressor, for preventing liquid refrigerant from being supplied to the compressor. The throttle unit has a housing(810) with a predetermined volume and connected to a refrigerant inlet(712) for gas refrigerant supply from a phase separator and a refrigerant outlet(714) for gas refrigerant supply to the compressor, and a porous element(820) mounted in the housing horizontally.
