<p>A method and an apparatus for transmitting and receiving RACH(Random Access Channel) messages through a multi-antenna in a wireless communication system are provided to shorten a delay time for RACH transmission by transmitting an RACH preamble through many Tx antennas so that the RACH preamble can be detected more easily. A mobile terminal transmits an RACH preamble to a base station through more than two Tx antennas(601). The mobile terminal monitors whether an AG(Access Grant) message corresponding to the RACH preamble is received from the base station. If the AG(Access Grant) message is received, the mobile terminal acquires antenna control information associated with the Tx antennas from the AG message(602). Using the antenna control information, the mobile terminal transmits an RACH message to the base station through at least one among the Tx antennas, including uplink data(603).</p> |
