A carbon nanotube reinforced thermotropic liquid crystal polymer nanocomposite, and a method for preparing the nanocomposite are provided to improve mechanical characteristics and to reduce the processing time. A carbon nanotube reinforced thermotropic liquid crystal polymer nanocomposite comprises 0.01-10.0 parts by weight of a carbon nanotube based on 100 parts by weight of a thermotropic liquid crystal polymer resin. Preferably the thermotropic liquid crystal polymer resin is any one selected from a thermotropic liquid crystal polyester copolymer, a wholly aromatic liquid crystal polyester, a wholly aromatic polyamide-based liquid crystal polymer, a poly(vinyl ether)-based liquid crystal polymer, a liquid crystal polymer having hetero ring having at least one halogen, nitrogen, oxygen or sulfur atom as a ring member, and a polysiloxane-based liquid crystal polymer.
