<p>An indoor unit of an air conditioner having the function of intensive cooling is provided to reduce an opening degree of a discharge gate by shutter units in intensive cooling mode, thereby achieving the intensive cooling for a desired place in short time to maximize cooling efficiency. An indoor unit of an air conditioner having the function of intensive cooling includes a case(10) having a suction gate and a discharge gate(50), and first and second shutter units(100,100') mounted to the discharge gate and carrying out sliding motion. A controller controls the shutter units to open the discharge gate fully in cooling mode and to reduce an opening degree of the discharge gate to a set degree by sliding in intensive cooling mode. The shutter units are installed at right and left sides or upper and lower sides of the discharge gate symmetrically. The first and second shutter units have motors(101,101') connected to the control part electrically to rotate forward or backward, pinion gears(102,102') formed to shafts of the motors, and shutter plates(104,104') having rack gears(103,103') engaged with the pinion gears and sliding in the horizontal or vertical direction according to the forward or backward rotation of the motor.</p> |
