A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce power consumption of the display device by alternately applying Vs and 0 voltages to X electrodes by repeating a mode 1 through a mode 8 according to the weight value of a sub-field. A PDP(Plasma Display Panel) includes plural first electrodes, a first node(A), a second node(C), a first transistor(S5), and a second transistor. The first node supplies a first voltage and the second node supplies a second voltage. The first transistor is connected between the first node and the first electrodes. When turned on, a first terminal of the first transistor is connected to the first node and a second terminal thereof is connected to the first electrodes, so that a first path for raising the voltages on the first electrodes is formed. Alternatively, the first terminal of the first transistor is connected to the first electrodes and the second terminal thereof is connected to the first node, so that a second path for lowering the voltages on the first electrodes is formed. The second transistor is connected between the second node and the first electrodes. When turned on, a first terminal of the second transistor is connected to the second node and a second terminal thereof is connected to the first electrodes, such that a third path for raising the voltages on the first electrodes is formed. Alternatively, the first terminal of the first transistor is connected to the first electrodes and the second terminal thereof is connected to the second node, so that a fourth path for lowering the voltages on the first electrodes is formed.
