A circuit for generating a pulse of a semiconductor memory apparatus is provided to control the pulse with a constant period used by the semiconductor memory apparatus more widely. A pulse generation unit(10) outputs a plurality of divided pulses by dividing a pulse outputted from an oscillator. A pulse selection unit(20) outputs the plurality of divided pulses selectively in correspondence to a control signal. The pulse generation unit includes a plurality of counters to divide the pulse outputted from the oscillator. The pulse selection unit includes a selection part for output the plurality of divided pulses selectively in correspondence to the control signal and a control part generating the control signal to control the selection part.
