PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering a downloading session that has been interrupted, in a device (1) comprising an interface (1.4) with a network (4) enabling access to a remote server (6) and means for implementing a downloading session with the server. SOLUTION: The method comprises: a process (S1) of starting up the downloading session of content from the remote server, by means of more than one signalling channel with at least the server; a process (S2) of detecting an interruption of the downloading session; a process (S3) of verifying the availability of all the channels; a process incapable of recovering the session when none of the channels is available; and a process (S5) of recovering the session when all the channels become available again (S4).
