PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To weaken the impact noise generated when the ends of elongated holes for tilting formed in a distance bracket are collided with a lock bolt. SOLUTION: This steering column device comprises an upper jacket 6a, first lower jacket 6c axially movable relative to each other, the distance bracket 16 disposed between left and right side brackets 13, 14 joined to a vehicle body and joined to the upper jacket 6a, the lock bolt 17 inserted into the elongated holes 16a, 19b for tilting formed in the distance bracket 16 and extending through the side brackets 13, 14, a fixed cam 20 inserted into the end of the lock bolt 17, a movable cam 23 pressing the fixed cam 20 to press the distance bracket 16 against the side bracket 14 for locking or unlocking, a pair of elastic tubes 27a, 27b inserted into the lock bolt 17, and a spring 30 for pressing installed between the elastic tubes 27a, 27b.
