PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for inserting a magnet material into a magnet hole in a rotor core, wherein a magnet material can be efficiently inserted into each magnet hole in a rotor core, without giving impact to the magnet material to crack or chip it. SOLUTION: The method is such that an unmagnetized magnet material 19 is inserted into multiple magnet holes 22 formed perpendicularly in a rotor core 15, and the apparatus uses this method. The method includes a first step of making a rotor core 15 incline, placed on a table 17 together with the table 17, to such an angle that the magnet material 19 will not slide down in the magnet holes 22; a second step of inserting the magnet material 19 into the magnet holes 22 in a state with the rotor core 15 made to incline; and a third step of returning the inclined table 17 and rotor core 15 to the horizontal position.
