EXTRACTS OF PLECTRANTHUS HADIENSIS, ARGENATUS OR MYRIANTHUS FOR THE TREATMENT OF MICROBIAL INFECTION

The invention provides the use of a compound of the general formula (1 ) including stereoisomers thereof wherein R₁ is R₂ CO; and R₂ -R₆ are selected from H, lower alkyl, or lower alkenyl, in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of a microbial infection. The compound of formula (1 ) may be obtained from a plant selected from Plectranthus hadiensis, Plectranthus argentatus and Plectranthus myrianthus.
